Dermalogica precleanse balm

I realized last week that I haven’t shared any of my current beauty product finds with you in a while so today I’m going to fix that.

With my trip to New York Fashion Week coming up in five days(yikes!), I’ve been testing out a few new things to take with me. I know I’ll be wearing a face full of makeup for those five days, so the first thing I wanted to find was a facial cleanser to help me take it all off a little easier each night. Honestly, it’s like Dermalogica read my mind because just about the time I was scouring the drugstore for a good deep cleansing makeup remover, a package showed up on my doorstep with the solution.

1. The Precleanse Balm by Dermalogica

Guys, this stuff is amazing for removing that initial layer of makeup. You start by applying it on dry and once you’ve worked it in using the scrubby mitt that’s included, you then start to emulsify it by adding water. After that, all that’s left to do is to follow up with your regular cleanser. I promise, your skin will feel so squeaky clean. Amazing stuff.

And something else that will be going to NYFW with me is their Hydrablur Primer. I’ve been putting this on after my moisturizer, but before my foundation to help it go on smoother and ‘blur’ out those fine lines that makeup has a knack for settling into as you get older. It also helps mattify and control that oily shine that can happen as the day goes on.

2. Rose Gold Lip Gloss by Makeup by Meggan

Ok, something else I’ve been wanting to share with you is this Rose Gold Lipgloss that I received a month or so ago from a local New Orleans makeup artist. Friends! I am completely smitten with this stuff!! It stays in my purse at all times and I wear it every single day. Not only do I love the soft shimmer, but I so appreciate the formulation of it as well. It’s 100% NOT sticky and that’s a big one for me. Dislike sticky lips. I wear it over a neutral lip pencil and love the little shimmer it gives. I just ordered a second tube and noticed that it’s a limited edition product, so if you’re interested in trying it, I wouldn’t wait too long!

3. Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara by Loreal

I have been hearing loads and loads of things about this particular mascara the past couple of months and decided that I needed to try it for myself. After finding it sold out at my local Target for a while, I finally was able to get my hands on one a week or so ago.

Now, I have to say right up front that I have been a VERY long time user of the original Voluminous formulation and have never found another that I like better. I’ve tried several of the more expensive designer brands, but always went back to my original.

So what’s my feeling on the new Lash Paradise? It’s good, it really is….but I think I’ll just stick to their original version. Ha! The formulation is great like the original, but I just don’t feel like I can get as much definition and volume with the Lash Paradise. I will definitely use it until it’s gone and really, who knows….maybe it will grow on me these next couple of weeks and make a believer out of me.

Have you tried the Lash Paradise yet? Let me know what you thought about it!
