How to Brighten up your Spring Wardrobe

(Photograhpy by Vivid Dream Photography)

Hi friends! I’m popping in to share a few ideas for sprucing up your spring wardrobe this year. First though, I want to take a second to (1) thank you for following along with me here on the blog, in general. It’s so nice to know that there are folks out there viewing these little posts of mine and (2) let you know just HOW much all of your emails and social media comments about Tuesday’s post meant to me. I’d be lying if I wasn’t brought to tears a couple of times just knowing that a lot of you could relate to my struggle. It truly helps ME to know that I’m not alone! So THANK YOU! XO

Ok, on to spring dressing and some of the trends you’ll be seeing a lot of this season!

1. Add some Spring Bling

I think one of the most instinctual and easiest ways to spruce up your spring wardrobe is to add some fun spring jewelry, amiright? Think tassel earrings or a colorful necklace to pair with your neutrals. Honestly, after a winter of dark colors, it’s so nice to punch things up with some color. Pop on a pair of statement tassel earrings and go!

2. Play with Scarves and Wraps

Adding a little pop to your spring look is super easy using a colorful scarf or a wrap of some kind. For me, the kimono cardigan has become my go-to piece in the warmer months. I love that it adds a little coverage to your denim, but it’s very lightweight and not hot. If you don’t already own one, I am begging you to try one! You will LOVE it, I promise!

3. Start with a small dose of color

If the idea of wearing bright colors in tops or dresses makes you nervous, try easing into the season with a little style detail that gives you just a punch of color. I’m a fan of adding a fun, colorful bag to an otherwise more neutral look and I personally do this often. Or how about adding a little color to your waistline with a skinny, spring-hued belt? You can also start adding in some spring vibes at your local nail salon. A pretty subtle blush nail color wil have you thinking Spring each time you look at your hands!

4. Adopt one spring trend

Ok, this is kinda where I get excited, you guys. I’m sure it’s just the fashion-lover in me, but I so look forward to seeing what’s trending for a new season. I always have a fun time seeing which trends are going to fit my style and seeing how I can incorporate a new element into my look. Try finding one that works for you. There are tons to choose from right now….bell sleeves, tassels, pompom details, mules, frayed denim skirts, camo, ruffles….the skies the limit!

5. Brighten up your pucker and/or peepers

If you’re a beauty product lover, a quick change of a lip or eye color might be right up your alley. There are so many colorful (they can be subtle!) options to choose from. One of the things I plan to try out is this Caviar Stick Eye Color just for a little pop on my eyes this spring! I saw it in the store recently and need to go back and snag one!
