We’re still in the throws of those very early fall days here in the south Louisiana where the calendar proclaims it’s officially Fall, but the weather has yet to get the memo. For ladies like myself, the still hot weather makes it tricky to transition over to the next season. Are the temps still in the low 90’s where you are? If they are, here are a few things I do to help make the switch.

.

1) Switch from summer sandals to open toe booties with denim shorts and jeans.
2) Start incorporating warmer tones and textures, even if that just means adding a rich suede or leather bag with your shorts.
3) Throw on a blazer or leather jacket with shorts. This is one of my favorites!
4) Pull out your favorite easy(read:loose) shift dresses and pair them with booties. Bonus points for shorter dresses of the fall plaid variety.

.

There are plenty of ways to “fall up” your already existing late summer wardrobe if you just get a little creative. What’s your own favorite go-to trick for the early fall season?

Now, while I love adding in warmer tones to my early fall looks, sometimes I feel like bucking the style system, so to speak, with things that might not be traditionally considered fall pieces, like these blush shorts here I’m wearing. The simple fix for that is adding a light neutral faux leather jacket to the mix while still keeping everything else what I might pair together in the heart of the summer.

I have to take a minute and sing the praises of these blush shorts, friends! Spring, summer (and as you can see here today), fall, these shorts are great nearly year round. The quality is fantastic and the price is crazy good….$20! I kid you not. Grab a pair while you can! I’d love to know what you would pair them with from your own closet to make them wearable this early fall season!

It’s another busy day here trying to get my ducks all in a row for a girl’s trip to Nashville on Thursday! I’ll be meeting up with some fellow bloggers/instagrammer friends for a great big girl’s sleepover weekend! Can’t wait to meet and spend time with these ladies!!

Have a great Tuesday, you guys, and thanks so much for stopping by! XO

I can completely relate to this post since I’m in Miami 🙂 The other day I threw a jean jacket over a white dress and counted that as fall wear haha Jackets always help turn your outfit into “fall appropriate”

You look so incredibly stylish, and I’m such a big fan of the beautiful hues. The pink and gold goes so well together + I think the jacket definitely adds a nice touch and will keep you warm if it gets cold! xx Adaleta Avdic
