Good morning, friends! I had every intention of posting on Friday (and Monday), but life is a bit chaotic in our home right now and I can’t seem to stay on top of everything that needs to get done. I’m eager to have our regular routine back and to finally be able to cook a home cooked meal for our family. Ha! Pete is finishing up his last week with rehearsals though and hopefully we’ll get some normalcy back in our home. Can’t wait to FINALLY get to see my husband perform on the stage after nearly twenty years together!

Along with this easy, early fall transitional look, today I thought I’d keep it low key with you guys and share a few things that I’m currently loving or doing.

So, let’s get to it:

1. This book

I took our boys to the bookstore over the weekend and stumbled on this book. As popular as it is, I’m not sure  how I had not already read it. I’m only two days in and it’s honestly already making an impact on my thought process. Having always known and heard that “Jesus loves me”, this book has been challenging me to really press in and understand the bigness and impact of that fact on my life. Sounds simple, I know, but sometimes I feel like the very things that seem so straightforward and matter of fact in our lives get overlooked and lose their rightful place. Anyway, if you’re like me and haven’t ever read this one, I encourage you to pick up a copy. It’s now been updated to include handy links to audio and video messages to accompany each day’s reading. It really does help to reinforce the material.

2. This recipe

With fall nearly here, I’ve been itching to make this copycat soup the past week! My first fall family meal will either be that one or my little boy’s favorite chicken and sausage gumbo. What are you cooking or baking up now that the season is starting to change? I need some new inspo!

3. This hat

When I was prepping for New York fashion week, these chic looks kept coming to my mind. I knew I wanted to do an all black and white look with a little edge and I REALLY wanted to incorporate this style hat, but somehow I dropped the ball and never picked up the hat. Big fail on my part. BUT, I fixed that last night, so get ready to see some fall looks on the blog with it. Somehow I’ve become a major hat person over the past several months…love that they add style to even the simplest of looks.

4. DIY gold furniture

I’m in the process of an office update and I’ve gotten my heart set on painting my office chair, in part or whole, a glammy gold color. I do worry though, that once I get going with my spray paint, I may have trouble stopping! Everything is better in gold, right? Ha!

While I started my office makeover a few months ago, I’m now really kicking it into full gear so I can enjoy the fruits of my labor and to also share the finished look with you guys. Right now, it’s looking one part boho and two parts glam and I LOVE it!

5. Getting back into this in a very MAJOR way!

While I wouldn’t go so far as to say that I completely fell off the wagon, I have slacked off in being diligent in my eating and exercise routines the past month or so and frankly, I’m over it. It was kinda fun to indulge in New York food and treats, but I haven’t felt nearly as good lately as I do when I’m following Amanda’s program that I found back at the first of this year. While it took me a couple of weeks to understand it and get into the habit, the thought process behind it makes so much sense and I truly love all that Amanda gives to her ladies to help them succeed and in making it a VERY do-able lifestyle for busy moms and women, in general. If you’re in a health rut and not sure what to do to get things turned around, seriously look into the program. The support and information shared on a daily basis in the groups is so valuable and encouraging. Also, if you ever have any questions about how it all works, feel free to shoot me an email! I’d love to help!
