Busy, busy…

Hey you guys! Goodness, I feel like I’ve been away for a week, but it’s only been a few days! How can that be?? It’s been a meeting/photo shoot-filled week, along with all the last minute tasks of getting little ones ready for back to school. I imagine this to be a busy time for most ladies though, so I know I’m not alone. After a long day yesterday, I made the decision to skip my normal Thursday morning workout at the gym just to try to catch up on some much needed tasks and really just to relax a bit. While I seriously dislike missing a good workout, I’m learning to listen more to my body instead of pushing it to the absolute limits all the time like I used to do. Do you push your self too hard, too much? I find it makes a world of difference and nips any burnout that I might be feeling if I just stop all the “have to’s” for a day(or even an afternoon) and take some quiet time to really recoup and recharge.

A few weeks ago I began a new morning ritual of waking up at 6am while everything and everyone still feels quiet. I make my morning iced coffee, grab my headphones and my daily devotional and head out to the backyard. It’s been such a lovely thing to ease into my days. I’m really looking forward to enjoying the changing season in the weeks ahead.

Still very much summertime…

Ok, sorry, I got off on a tangent there! You guys, the weather here is INSANELY hot and humid right now!! Ugh….it happens every single August and I swear I am NEVER prepared for it! So, while I’ll be sharing some fall looks for you over the next few weeks, it’s still very much summer here and tops like this cute floral number are getting me through it.

First off, I just want to say right off the bat that the quality of this top is fantastic. I truly couldn’t have been happier when it arrived. I love the tied bow detail at the neckline! (You actually tie it yourself) And while I’m wearing it here with some white denim shorts, it would look great with some jeans and even under a blazer as well. I’ve always been a fan of a cutaway shoulder style like this one. I think it’s a flattering look on so many ladies.

Have a great afternoon, ladies! We are headed out to tackle the rest of those back to school errands and I want to spend some time hanging with my boys before our summer comes to an end next week! Thanks so much for reading! xo
