Unless you’ve been living under a rock somewhere, you’ve likely seen the rise of the over the knee boots the past two fall seasons. I have to be honest. When they first hit the fashion scene, I wasn’t sold 100%. Like a lot of ladies, I kept conjuring up images of Julia Roberts in what I like to affectionately refer to as “hooker boots” in Pretty Woman. Well, friends, the hooker boots have polished up their act and become a respectable fall shoe choice! Honestly, they add such a chic feel to any fall/winter look.

There are tons of different styles available out there to suit every taste and budget. I find that I’m pretty picky when it comes to settling on the right pair, but now that I have, there’s no turning back. I wear them every chance I get!
Here are a few options available out there if you’re thinking of taking the plunge:

The great thing about a pair of over the knee boots is the versatility they offer. You can honestly wear them with any bottom or dress. I’ve even seen them worn with distressed denim shorts and a slouchy sweater and it looked so effortless and chic.
White denim, dark boots…
Today, I wanted to show how you can wear them with white denim. I’ll be sharing another way to style these boots next week for you as well. But, today I kept it simple with a neutral lace up sweater, which is AMAZING, by the way! Highly recommend you look into it. Adding a fall hat has become one of my very favorite ways to really jazz up an otherwise simple look like this one today. In my opinion, so much of having good style is about including the right layers to add some visual interest. I definitely feel like having a neutral topper like this felt one on hand makes that job a much easier one. It just gives your look that little something “extra” or lagniappe as we call it around here in south Louisiana.
