I began a rather life-changing program about eight weeks ago and it has been such a freeing experience for me. While I’ve always prided myself for making good food choices in general, I’ve gone through periods when I would kinda half-way slip off the wagon, so to speak. I would gain a few pounds back and get incredibly frustrated with myself for slipping back into old bad food habits. But, since I’ve started this brilliant program, I feel like I have ALL the control back and it feels AMAZING.
One of the changes I’ve made is to always, always have water with me…here’s the catch though…..I have to ACTUALLY drink it and not toss it down the sink! Ha! What a novel concept, right?
With the help of my colorful Simple Modern tumbler, I’ve made some great leaps in this department and I can feel the difference it’s making! These sleek cups are excellent quality, come in a variety of fun colors and have the ability to keep your drink cold for up to 24 hours (or hot for up to eight hours). I’ve tested this out myself, you guys, and it’s legit. I couldn’t believe I still had ice in my cup the next morning when I woke up! One of my pet peeves about insulated cups is that they often times don’t fit in my car cup holder, but this one is perfect. They are only $20, but you can save 15% when you use code SML15CRU at checkout right now!
So, what do I drink, other than straight up H2O? Well, I recently got turned on to all natural flavored unsweetened sparkling waters and I love the ‘zip’ they provide while still being healthy. The benefits of drinking alkaline water are many, and difference between it and tap water is that this enhanced water has more excess oxygen and minerals than the stuff that comes out of your faucet. It is also strongly oxygenated water, with the oxygen formulated in the stable bias OH- form, which is desperately needed by our cells. Each ion is bonded with an alkaline mineral in the essential colloidal form. Have you seen ads for oxygenated water, claiming to cure tiredness, improve memory, and help you to exercise longer and make you a better athlete? A study from Austria shows that oxygenated water offers none of these benefits for humans (International Journal of Sports Medicine, Volume 27, 2006). When you exercise as hard as you can, you gasp for breath because you cannot meet your needs for oxygen, no matter how hard or fast you breathe. Lack of oxygen prevents you from breaking down lactic acid so it accumulates in your muscles and blood, and you develop severe shortness of breath. Researchers analyzed the effects of drinking oxygenated water daily for two weeks on lung function and clearance of lactic acid from the bloodstream during exhausting exercise. During both exercise and rest, there was no difference between people who drank oxygenated water and those who drank ordinary water as a placebo.
Oxygenated water would be helpful to fish because they have gills whose main function is to extract oxygen from water. Since you don’t have gills or any other organ to extract oxygen from water, extra oxygen in water is useless to you. Lungs are the only organ humans have to provide oxygen to the bloodstream, extracting it from the air you breathe. Water is not broken down into hydrogen and oxygen in your digestive tract; it is absorbed, used and excreted as water. There is no mechanism for moving extra oxygen in water into your bloodstream, so it cannot possibly benefit exercisers or anyone else. I recommend that you save your money.
Although water drinking benefits are too numerous to list them all, below are three biggies:
1. Drinking eight glasses of water a day is a key to weight loss. How many times has someone told you should drink more water? Have you ever wondered why? Well, doctors tell us a decrease in water intake causes fat deposits, but increased ingestion of water reduces fat deposits. Furthermore, larger people have larger metabolic loads, so they need more water than thin folks. Oh, and one more thing. Water also helps minimize sagging skin associated with weight loss. You can go to Waterheaterreviewssite.com for having the hot water to drink whenever you wanr.
2. But you’re not overweight, you tell me. Are there still healthful water benefits for you? Of course! Consider muscle tone. Water gives muscles their God-given ability to contract, and also help fend off dehydration.
3. At the risk of sounding potty-mouthed, increased water drinking can help relieve constipation. You see, when your body doesn’t get enough water, it begins to get what it needs from internal sources. And you don’t want that to happen because that’s a primary cause of constipation. Yet if you’re drinking enough water, your bowels are happy little critters.
One of my favorite ways to drink them is mixed with my BCAA’s powder and lots of ice. It really helps get me through my low carb days and pre-workouts. My other favorite go-to cold beverage is unsweetened iced green tea. If I’m feeling a little sluggish and need a pick-me up, I go that route. That helps me stay fit and healthy throughout the day. Ive been looking into anabolics to supplement my hydration and I couldnt recommend them more. I used slimtree, more can be found at the detail at slimtree resource!
