Hey there! How was your weekend? I hope you were as fortunate as we were here with some AMAZING weather! It made our little 5K run on Saturday all the more fun. I’m already lamenting the fact that we won’t get many more, if any, cool string of days like this. Ahh…life in the deep south.
Today I thought I would share a few of the things I have on my Spring bucket list with you guys. I’m always looking for something new to put on mine, so if you have something fun on yours, I wanna know about it!
Oh and don’t forget to enter the $1,000 Nordstrom Giveaway down at the bottom of this post before you leave!

1. Go to an outdoor movie and bring picnic food.
I’m sure I’m romanticizing this idea a bit, but I have always wanted to do this. It ranks right up there with a drive-in movie theater for me! There are none of those nearby where we live, but I know there are some in other parts of the country.
I’m pretty sure it would probably be one of the very last things on my husband’s list of want-to’s(ha!), but I’d love to give outdoor movie watching on a big screen a shot at least once! I found an organization here locally that does a series of them starting in May through October.
I’m ready to pack up the picnic food for dinner and a movie under the stars this spring, you guys!

2. Learn how to bake french macaroons.
So, something you guys probably don’t know about it is that I’m a pretty darn good baker, if I do say so myself! When my boys were both really small, I baked ALL the time. I think it’s the precision of it that appeals to me. Measurements have to be exact or things don’t turn out so good. I love making perfectly uniform sized cookies and baking layered cakes the most.
I’m a bit of nerd, you guys, what can I say? Ha!
Now, we all know and LOVE those pretty little french macaroons that fill our Instagram feeds on a daily basis, but I’ve always wanted to learn how to bake them myself. I know there’s a little trial and error to the process, but I do love a good challenge. Hoping to carve out some kitchen time over the spring break holiday to give it a shot!

3. High Tea with girlfriends at the Windsor Court in New Orleans.
This one is a hold over from my fall bucket list, but it has yet to happen, so I’m including it again. Let’s face it, any excuse to get together with girlfriends over pretty food and drinks is a good one. I love the idea of getting all dolled up and munching on tea sandwiches and sipping on hot tea with a bunch of my best girls in New Orleans.

4. Springify my patio area.
A lot of you may have already done this, but I’m slacking this year. One of my favorite things to do at home is sit out on the patio to do blog work or read a book. After this past Saturday’s early morning run I even took a nap out in the hammock we have set up right now.
I normally take a Saturday and have the kids go with me to pick out a few new outdoor garden goodies to spruce up the space a bit. It makes the time sitting out there feel so fresh and new. Last year my mom helped us set up a very small edible garden and it was fun to watch it grow all spring and summer long. I need to get back out there and get that going again this year.

5. Pretend to be tourists! Rent bikes in New Orleans and stop for hot beignets and coffee along the way.
While I’m a born and raised New Orleans girl and am quite familiar with the city already, I love the idea of hopping on some rented bikes and seeing the nooks and crannies of the downtown and uptown area. I’ve had my fill of all the standard French Quarter sites over the years, so seeing something a little more obscure would be fun to do. And of course, we can’t do NOLA without stopping for some hot beignets and coffee, all set to the sounds of the some jazz and local street performers nearby.
