I’ve always had a thing for cute stationary and cleverly thought out invitations. I’m pretty sure that’s girl thing. I remember painstakingly picking out our wedding invitations many moons ago and how they had to be JUST right. My biggest fail in that decision was not realizing that my irregularly shaped invitations were going to cost extra in the postage department. I didn’t find that out until they had already been professionally printed to include pre-addressed envelops. Woops! Expensive lesson, that’s all I will say.
Fast forward to both of our boy’s(I debuted both boys and my amazing husband a few weeks ago on the blog here) first five birthday parties. I either created the party invitations myself or had them custom designed and printed. I had a bit of an obsession, you guys.
I’ve since learned the immense value and peace of mind of going paperless! From baby shower invites to Valentine’s Day, sending out invitations is now a snap and much more budget friendly. In no time, you can custom create an invitation or card that works for your occasion and have them sent online just by including the emails of your potential guests/recipients.
If you’re still more of a “hold it in your hands” kinda gal(I get it, I’m still that way too from time to time), Paperless Post also offers a ton of printed options as well.
Pete and I really like celebrating most holidays, but Valentine’s Day is one we tend to keep more low-key. Having both worked in the restaurant industry before we were married, we still remember those CRAZY hectic nights waiting tables on Valentine’s Day. As a result, neither one of us are ever super stoked at the idea of crowed restaurants for date night. On that particular holiday, I much rather prefer him cook us some nice steaks at home and enjoy the quiet. (Something else I’m thinking might be fun would be to cook dinner together using one of these meal prep solutions! Kinda romantic and fun, right?)
The one thing we do normally do each year though is exchange heartfelt cards and maybe some sweet treats(my absolute fav! I’m a cake girl!). So, I opted to create this personalized Valentine’s Day card for him this year and I love that the interior includes what I wanted to say, making it feel so much more personal that a standard drugstore card. I know receiving one of these personalized babies would feel much more special for me knowing it was thought out and planned ahead of time.
I seriously urge you to consider simplifying some of those things that are on your to-do list in 2017! I know paperless invitations have been a real game-changer for me the past few birthday parties and brought my stress levels down greatly!
Here are just a few of the occasions to shop for at Paperless Post:
- Wedding Announcements
- Moving Announcements

The options are really endless and easy to create. And just think, by going paperless, you’ll be MUCH more likely to get those Christmas cards out to family and friends way BEFORE the big man makes his way down the chimney this year! 🙂
