I must confess that the older I get the more I appreciate and truly enjoy pampering experiences. When my children were babies, I just honestly wanted time to be alone and have quiet time. (I’m wired to enjoy socializing when my “me” time tank is full, but once it’s depleted, I hit the proverbial “wall” and need time by myself. Consequently, I recently learned this personality type is referred to as ambiversion. Pretty darn accurate too, I must say.)

But these days now that my little ones are a little older and more self-sufficient, I jump at the opportunity to get my nails, hair, skin pampered a bit. So when I recently got an invitation to experience Dry Bar here in Baton Rouge, I was a little more than excited, you guys.

If you aren’t familiar yet with Dry Bar, it’s a genius service that offers the very best blowouts and hair styling. They focus on doing that one thing and they do it SO well, you guys.

First off, what I want to convey the most is just how friendly the staff is there. I was super fortunate to have my hair styled by Ebony who has been at this location since opening day (she’s my new “regular girl”, by the way! Love her!). The rest of the staff is also so warm and helpful and let’s be honest, you don’t always get that in a salon setting, so I felt very welcomed as soon as I walked in.

The atmosphere in Dry Bar is fantastic and I honestly found it difficult to wipe the smile from my face the whole time I was there. From hot tea, coffee, cookies, a big screen tv with nothing but chick flicks on, I felt right at home!

Each hair style appointment begins with a shampoo and a discussion about what you’d like to achieve with your hair. They have a menu of styles to help guide you and get your stylist going in the right direction for you.

I went with the Cosmo-Tai and LOVED the way it turned out! A little bit beachy, a little bit curly and just what I was after. They also offer updos and the option to add a braid if you want, which I will be trying out soon, especially in the summer months ahead when the humidity and heat is a hair killer here.

I must say that I learned that their products are key to getting the longest life out of your finished style. The Triple Sec and the Money Maker have been amazing to work with this past week here at home. Can’t recommend those enough!

I must have went on and on with my friends and family about how much I loved my time there because Santa left me a mighty generous Dry Bar gift card this week! I might or might not have squealed as soon as I saw the bright yellow logo on the box! He knows me so well! Ha!

Ladies, if you have somewhere special to go (or just want to take the week off from fooling with your hair!) and want to feel like a million bucks, make an appointment at the local Dry Bar in your area! You can do it online and they also have a beautiful phone app that will have you set up in a hot minute with an appointment!

I’ve got some great news as well! I’m SO excited to be able to share a discount code with my local readers here in the Baton Rouge area!

When you make your appointment at the Perkins Rowe location,

use code JANUARYHART for $5 off your blowout!

Code is good January 2, 2017 thru March 1, 2017!

Honestly, give it up for these pretty loose curls, you guys?! Love it! Ebony did such a stellar job!

In looking ahead, one of the things I’m excited about doing in the new year is hosting a Blowout Bootcamp here at the Dry Bar in Baton Rouge! I’ll definitely being sharing that with you guys as well, so be sure to stay tuned with me over the next few months!

Thanks so much for reading today! I hope you make a resolution to take a little time to pamper yourself in 2017! XO
