Happy Friday, friends! I wanted to pop in this afternoon and share a few books with you that I recently received. I think they are perfect as we head into a new year and set new goals for our work and family life.

Let’s just get right to it!

The first is one my pastor has always recommended to our church and I came across it this month in Hobby Lobby of all places. So I snagged it and have already begun to dig into it.

1. Sacred Marriage by Gary Thomas

I love that’s easy to read and gives practical, thought-provoking, and most importantly, applicable advice and knowledge.

“Your marriage is more than a sacred covenant with another person. It is a spiritual discipline designed to help you know God better, trust Him more fully, and love Him more dearly.”

That snippet alone, really speaks to me and hooks me in right off the bat.

2. The 52 Lists Project by Moorea Seal

My mom gave me this book for Christmas and being the “list person” that I am, I cannot wait to begin filling in these pages, starting this weekend.

First off, it’s just a pretty book with great photos and it will inspire you to open and write in it again and again as the year unfolds. But, it gives you prompts and questions to get your thoughts going and then directs you to apply them in your daily life.

For example: List 8 in the book is to list your favorite quotes. After you do that, it has a Take Action section that encourages you to put it in action. “What do your favorite quotes have in common? Choose one quality or theme to incorporate into your daily life this week.”

“The act of list making is such an essential part of our everyday lives, whether we jot those lists on paper or create plans in our minds. From scribbling down daily tasks, mapping out lifelong goals, or tallying up our top ten favorite songs, so many of our inner desires and thoughts are revealed through the lists we create.”

3. Present over Perfect by Shauna Niequist

This is a book I picked up this month as well after I kept hearing and reading about it. With the new year about to be under way, I think so many of us, as women, can really gain some great knowledge and inspiration from this one.

“In these pages, you’ll be invited to consider the landscape of your own life, and what it might look like to leave behind the pressure to be perfect and begin the life-changing practice of simply being present, in the middle of the mess and the ordinariness of life.”

“Leaving behind frantic for a simpler, more soulful way of living”. That subtitle immediately caught my attention and I can’t wait to get into it this next month. Have you read it? If so, I’d love to hear what you thought of it!

There they are, the three books I’m committed to get into in the month of January! Hope one of them speaks to you and helps you in some way in the new year!

Thanks so much for reading and have a great night, ladies! XO
