Fall Fitness motivation

 

I recently had someone message me on Instagram asking me how I don’t get bored running five nights a week. The truth is that while I truly love running and what it does both for my mind and body, I definitely DO get bored with it from time to time.

That’s always my cue to change things up for a bit and throw in a new activity that will also get my heart rate up like my regular runs do. That might be as simple finding a straight stretch of road and doing a handful of short sprints, going all out as fast as I can. It still gets the job done, but amps up the challenge AND gets it done quicker. Achieving a healthy body is everyone’s goal. But the age we are currently living in has so much to detail to maintain a healthy diet regime. If that still isn’t motivating me, I’ll start looking for other ways to be active, rather than sitting out entirely. I like to play a little game with myself and see what new skill/activity I can conquer. Fitness nerd? Prolly. Ha! I haven’t done one since I was about ten years old, but I do love a good challenge (and there’s nothing like that feeling of accomplishing something that you weren’t sure you could do!). I’ve found some adult tumbling classes that I’m so excited to get involved in, along with some hip hop classes (move over, Dr. Dre is all I gotta say. Ha!).

While those might not be your particular speed, I encourage you to ask around and see what’s happening in your community that you can get involved with, fitness-wise. Now that fall is here, maybe see what you can find to do outside to also enjoy the cooler weather as well.

Daily walks to the coffee shop with a friend

Get your caffeine, girltime and workout all in one fell swoop!

 

Hit up some biking trails

Grab the family and take in the fall foliage sights on two wheels!

 

Hit up a cornmaze

Love doing these with kids and seeing who can find the finish line first!

 

Visit a lake.

Think kayak, canoeing, or paddle boarding. Great for a fun full body workout.
